Photog missing

Since the official photographer of Every Word's a Purl is away on business AGAIN, I can't show you my finished 28thirty. Not yet anyway.

His absence has a few other notable implications:

I'm indulging in the original Pride and Prejudice, followed by Project Runway.

I made myself a dinner involving only vegetables and tofu. And despite my plans to have it for dinner the rest of the week, I succeeded in putting most of it away m'self.

I am leaving half empty cups of coffee all over the house.

I just realized that my yoga pants have been on backwards for a few hours.

I almost forgot about the eclipse, until someone texted me. Now this power ballad is stuck in my head.

So, basically, I'm a slug. How does your behavior change when your significant other hits the road?

oh man! I just read this and cracked up -- my SO was out of town last week and this uh, sounded very familiar!

* I eat mostly vegetarian, mostly weird things for dinner
* I watch bad tv
* I let the dogs sleep on the bed
* I leave half-full coffee mugs all over the house :)

can't wait to see your 28thirty!

I've been single for well over a year, but I STILL feel that little thrill of living alone again, like the Ex is just away for a very looong weekend. So I leave water glasses all over the house, make fried eggplant, and am generally a slob. Love the yoga pants being on backward :)

does the camera not have a self-timer? I don't want to wait!

When my hubby is traveling I go crazy during the day trying to keep up with the baby all alone but come evening, I park myself on the couch and hardly move. I too leave half-empty cups all over the house and usually make one big meal and then eat it for days. Oh, bad tv/movies that I know he would make fun of me for watching definitely make their appearance.

I think we would get along very well! I also watch good girly movies/TV and cook with tofu when the husband is away. Oh, and knit a lot.

Can't wait to see your 28thirty!

The kids and I have pancakes or frozen crap from Trader Joe's for dinner when the hubby is away overnight. And we settle in for a night of America's Funniest Home Videos before bedtime.

Then I watch something that he would never watch. Last week, it was "Once." Loved it. He would have fallen asleep in the first 10 minutes.

Can't wait to see the finished 28thirty!! Your photog needs to get home pronto. When BK is away (or is working late, which is often the case) I eat a lot LESS, but also generally get lazy and leave all my knitting stuff strewn about the living room.

I spend 3 or 4 hours at the gym, eat eggplant for dinner (the one thing Ben won't touch) and watch bad TV while knitting until 3am. I sleep with the lights on. I'm like a bad child when he's away. Except for the gym thing.

Oh, hilarious. I am also a complete slug when left to my own devices. I do it now that I live with a boyfriend, and even before when I had roommates. The place just devolves really quickly, and then I get disgusted with myself and have to clean it all up before they get home...

Oh, when my husband leaves, I behave a lot like you... I watch a LOT of silly romantic comedies or bad tv (bravo, I'm looking at you) that he won't endure. And I cook things he doesn't like. Oh, and I usually wear something of his around the house. shh, don't tell.

Isn't it funny how we all seem to like doing the same stuff while our other half is away? I usually sloth around on the couch knitting and watching bad movies that I remember watching with my mom and sister when our dad was out of town (tradition, I guess.) I also completely ignore the dishes and sometimes put off showering until the evening.

Oh my gosh...how does it change?

-I watch whatever I want. And I don't have answer what's going on because she wasn't listening or because she was talking about something else and expecting me to listen to both her and the tv.
-I knit all day and night.
-Poppy and I have wild parties.
-Dishes are washed immediately.
-I can leave the bed unmade for days at a time!!

My bf and I must be pretty free around one another, because we both leave cups around the apt on a regular basis and we're both fans of comfy pants. We're both vegetarians, so tofu for dinner is very common. I do indulge in girly movies, though and I know he watches lots of kung fu movies when I'm not home!

A group got together in a park in Seattle last night and sang "Total Eclipse of the Heart" for the whole duration of the eclipse. It was a little half-hearted by the time I got there but still a great idea. http://seattlest.com/2008/02/21/total_eclipse_o.php

Thanks, Jenna - I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who leaves cups and knitting all over the place no matter what! Actually, I think I might be tidier when my husband is gone. And I sleep very soundly when I'm not sandwiched between man and cat and can actually roll away from the whiskers and dead weight on one side or the other. ;)

Can't wait to see the 28Thirty, though!

I'll join the chorus about 28thirty!

Too funny - especially the backwards yoga pants!

Isn't it amazing how much you rely on another person without realizing it?

Backward yoga pants. That is total relaxation mode.

I get to watch movies that he wouldn't ever watch. I stay up too late because I can't sleep when he is gone. And we can eat pasta every night for dinner, because it is so versatile!
