baby things

Two nights ago, I had a dream (nightmare?) that I gave birth to nine babies. Yep, nine. And as it is in dreams, there was no explanation for how this happened or where the nonuplets would sleep or how we'd feed them.

Maybe I ate something weird for dinner, or maybe it's all the wee baby clothes I've been knitting.

I've recently thrown myself headlong into little outfits for my very pregnant friends/beloved co-workers. I could knit February sweaters until the end of time. Busy enough to keep you interested, simple enough for the feeble-minded (like me).

Here's the sweater, lounging on our fire escape/ghetto terrace on my oil cloth from Brooklyn General. She's made from King Tut cotton, my go-to yarn for February sweaters.

In other breaking baby knits news, I started the Bella baby dress from Posie Gets Cozy. Reading this blog is like opening a Valentine every day. So crisp and fresh and delightful.

So I know the dress doesn't look like much yet, but give the gal a chance!

So did anyone else read about this and recall the song Pac-Man Fever? Yeah, my brother and I had it on vinyl.

And did anyone else read about this and worry that Sam Waterston would get less air time?

I never get tired of looking at the February sweater -- must knit one one of these days! And YES, I had the same response to the Law and Order news. :(

I hope he doesn't get less air time! He's my favorite part of the show. That's a lovely February sweater you have ~ an cotton! Yea! Weren't you skeptical about that King Tut yarn at first?

I am soon to embark on a barrage of Feb sweaters myself :) Happy times. Incidentally, when I was preggers I had a dream that my mom was giving birth to several cats. Maine Coon cats. She was about to have the one that would be mine when I woke up. I guess it's better to be overwhelmed in your subconscious than while awake!

Love the baby sweater! I've been dying to knit that pattern, but all the pregnant women I know keep having boys! You can make some sweaters less girly, but not this one, I think. I'm hoping some friends of ours, who recently announced they're expecting, will have a girl, if only so I can knit cute, girly sweaters!

While I would love for McCoy to get a promotion (he works so hard!), I do love Sam Waterston and on the rare occasions that I watch a new Law & Order, I do enjoy seeing him. Is it weird for me to have such a big crush on him?

Ahem. I love the February sweater. I've never made one and always get the urge to whenever I see a nice one like yours.

Such cute baby clothes, though a dream about having 9 babies would have me waking up in a cold sweat.

I would be sad to see less of Sam Waterston on L&O, but I would still watch. I love that show.

Nine! My sister has 7- I love all of them but I think she is CrAzy. However I do knit for her babies and it is very much appreciated. I adore that dress- I have to knit it! I attempted to knit the EZ sweater but I have problems with lace- we don't get along. Maybe someday.

Well I guess I have to learn how to crochet - I just noticed it was not a knitting pattern.

Cute, cute baby stuff - almost (yeah right, almost) makes me one one - maybe nine!!! What a strange dream to have, I would have woken up very confused.

I've only recently discovered that I actually *love* Law and Order - Sam Waterstone and all.

Oh what a nightmare! I hope your dream included an epidural :) The Feb. Sweater is too sweet.

I think the promotion might be a good thing for Waterston's character. The writing for him has gotten a bit stale. Think of all the new things the writers can have him frowning about!

Yipes! Nine babies?! Let's just hope that was no premonition - maybe it is about the knitting projects you want to start?

Love the baby sweater - so precious.
