Baby carrots

I'm just naming this post baby carrots because that's what I'm eating. It's 2:30 a.m. and I just spent the better part of my adult life looking for a parking space. Why did I work so late? I try not to get into that stuff here, but let me just say it involved a porn star, a sarong, a subway and a crime victim's boyfriend trying to extort me. That's all.

So tonight I shall be short in the verbiage department and long in photos.

A gratuitous shot of Ms. Petunia (aka Ms. Marigold) blocking. You can even see the wet spots! I fiddled with the ruffles all weekend, and hope to take some respectable photos soon.

Now how intimidating is this?

It's the Coats Opera 5 for my mom's French bistro top. Damn, that is a lot of really teeny, tiny thin yarn. I tried out the stitch pattern:

Now I know that the jury is still out on Blueprint, the new Martha magazine. But I did like it -- pages and pages of eye candy and cute design ideas. And I did make their ridiculously simple scarf handbag. Really, it was so quick that I don't think it qualifies as a craft.

And just for kicks, here is the best apartment listing ever.

Wow, that is how you list an apartment.

Ms. Petunia looks great. I can't wait to see her on. The bag is very cute too. No matter how easy it might have been! Sounds like a hell of a night. Perhaps a Tom Collins or two? :)

You are such a speed demon! Can't believe that marigold is already finished.

I love the bangle bag from Blueprint. Just promise me that you don't use another scarf for their "waist pack" idea.

That apartment listing is hilarious, You gotta love brutal honesty. You've been a busy crafter... petunia looks fabulous, can't wait to see how it fits and oh my all that tiny yarn - I know how you feel... I just cast-on for Aimee from the Rowan, vintage style book and it's knit with lace-weight mohair on size 3's!!!

Good Petunia, it looks great. And so does the bag -- what a great scarf. My friends and I have discussed Blueprint at length -- I think it's good, the design is just a little too dense right now. They'll figure it out as they go, I think.

I am SO intrigued by the sarong-porn-star-crime victim's boyfriend paragraph. When/where can I read the article?

Pornstars and FO's, who can keep up with you?! I think the next logical step is to...KNIT A PORNSTAR! You could just modify the knitty kitty and add a little more boob! Alright, I'm expecting to see this within two weeks. GO

Thanks for the link! Flapping in the breeze, huh? I used to live in Hell's Kitchen--glad you didn't go with the gentrified "Clinton" neighborhood designation. (Of course it is so much less hellish now than when I lived there...)

heh - I used to live within a block of that apartment on Craigslist. Hilarious to me that $1500 can now be considered a bargain in that neighborhood (which, let's face it, is technically Red Hook, though the realtors try to get away with "Carroll Gardens West")

Ms. Petunia looks great. Makes me want to add it to my to-do list.

You asked about Yinz Knit...anyone can join, but I had set it up to get in touch with other Western PA knitters.

I love reading craig's list. it's just too entertaining. especially the singles ads.

From what you say about your job, I sometimes worry about your safety. it's not all that bad, is it?

Um, more details on why you worked so late, please?! That definitely leaves us with many many more questions than answers. :)

The scarf bag is cute, whether it's a craft or not.

I love the bag!!!! it's so pretty! bad day for vida, sad sad end to my wonderful wonderful affair with the boy of my dreams who has a girlfriend - said girlfriend was in town all today, horrible to feel so duplicitous, but I like him so much, wish he was mine not her's, also that I would never again have to spend a day pretending everything was cool with her. I bet she can't even knit... What to do, heartbroken... Carrie, you seem like a worldwise girl, advice please!
