More than somewhat pleased!

Actually, I'm completely pleased with my Somewhat cowl. It was our attempts to photograph the sweater that were only somewhat successful. I was having an unprecedented bad hair AND bad face day. (Take my advice -- White Rain hair products are only $1 for a reason!)

Thank goodness we're all here for the knitting.

Here I am, more prim and proper and refined.

I definitely give this knit a thumb's up. I used Misti Alpaca, which feels heavenly both when knit up and when worn. Soft doesn't begin to describe it. I used just over four skeins, which is irritating, seeing as I purchased six. But, after the nightmare of nearly running out on Ella, I'll gladly accept the leftover yarn.

This baby even passed the ultimate test, which means I wore it to work and no one accused me of knitting it myself.

As an aside, I'm photographed in Jonathan's kitchen, the site of what we thought was a gas leak this morning. See, the stove smelled funny. And since I tend to imagine that everything will cause an untimely death, we were overly paranoid and called Keyspan. Jonathan told the operator, "I dunno, it's probably not a big deal." And the operator interrupted him, hollering very earnestly, "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SMALL GAS LEAK." That just cracked me up. (Turns out it was not really a gas leak at all, just a kinda clogged pilot light.)

I'll leave you with a fun mosaic I made in honor of Project Spectrum. Here are most of the reds and pinks in my apartment. Too much information? Maybe.

It turned out so beautifully!! You did a great job! And I don't know what you are saying. You look great in those photos (though I agree White Rain is crap). That rich green really compliments your coloring.
I'm glad to hear this was a good knit too. I think I may have to bump it up on my list.

Like a pro! It looks fabulous on you! And the color is fantastic.

The gas leak thing is totally something that would freak me out too. Better safe than sorry!

It looks gorgeous and so do you. What I wouldn't give for one of your bad face and hair days!

Our CO alarm went off a couple of weekends ago and I was FREAKED OUT! I have this feeling about tragic things happening, too. We knew what it was, an electrical fire outside and opening the windows to the back could take care of it, but still PANIC and we left the house stat.

oh I love it! This one is on my list. I'd love to use the silk/ Alpaca blend that's called for, but it's so expensive! Are you satisfied with your yarn choice for this one?

Oooh, the sweater looks beautiful. I've been eyeing that one two, but I'm chicken when it comes to knitting sweaters that really have to fit. And your hair looks fine, silly (though I will second the sentiment that cheap shampoo isn't the way to go).

totally fabulous! the color is great, and it looks like it fits PERFECTLY! The Somewhat Cowl is definitely on my list to knit, when I finish the all other things I'm working on.

We totally had a gas leak last week too. Two, actually. That's what my boyfriend kept saying: "It's just a small leak!" ha.

Your cowl is beautiful! Glad that you survived the gas leak scare. I would have been freaked out too.

I'm very amused that Raid comes in a pink bottle.

The cowl looks great! Hope to see it in person sometime. Good thing its short sleeved - you still have another few weeks of this semi-cold weather in which to wear it!

I had to chuckle at the can of Raid in your Spectrum montage.

Your somewhat cowl is very cute. My MIL introduced me to Misti Alpaca and it's sooo great. I have yet to knit with it, but you are completely right. It's incredibly soft and yummy.

The somewhat cowl is gorgeous! Theres some gret patterns on that site that I may have to try eventually.
Your hair doesnt look bad. While I personally havent tried White Rain, I have tried Suave and found out that I'm allergic to it (it makes me itch like a flea infested dog) so I've steered clear of the cheap hair products since then

Oh that came out awesome. It's good and bad when people don't ask if you knit something. Because when they don't ask me and I tell them anyway I feel like I'm being a little weird. Anyway - the sweater is great. :)
